"Materiales Y Soluciones S.A. is the biggest hardware and building materials company in Chile. We are a retailer with more than 135 stores and group sales of over US$720 million for 2011. We concentrate on five main areas - Building Materials, Iron & Steel, Woods, Hardware and Finishing (paints, tiles, laminated floors, etc). We are developing a sixth area which is Home Improvement.

This was our second visit to the fair. At this fair we were looking for building materials, lighting products and products related to Home Improvement, irrespective of whether they were new to us, or products we already carry. We certainly hoped to find new suppliers and new products and we made contact with three relevant exhibitors. We have not yet placed orders as we are still working in the first phase of quotations, samples, certification and so on - it takes time to analyse these commercial proposals.

We were pleased with the organisation of the fair, starting with our contact with HKTDC in Santiago, Chile and also with the staff in Hong Kong. The location, facilities and transportation made our visit to the fair very easy. "
