HKTDC Launches First iPhone Applications for
B2B Sourcing and Trade Fairs

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has launched the first iPhone applications for business-to-business (B2B) sourcing and accessing trade fair information, aiming to connect buyers and suppliers in the fast-moving world.

Mobile devices have become indispensable nowadays, especially for on-the-go buyers who are traveling during peak trade fair seasons. The HKTDC launched the ground-breaking iPhone applications, “HKTDC Mobile” for B2B sourcing and “HKTDC Fairs” for trade fair information, the first of their kind in the world.

“Buyers travel from place to place to international trade fairs. The new HKTDC applications suit their needs for sourcing anytime, anywhere. Furthermore, this enhances the efficiency of HKTDC fairs,” said Raymond Yip, Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC.

Clare Wong, Director of Publications & E-Commerce of the HKTDC said: “HKTDC is the pioneer in the B2B mobile arena, and we always leverage the latest technology to provide convenience to global buyers and suppliers on the go.” She added: “We believe that e-commerce is diversifying from laptop towards mobile devices.”

HKTDC Mobile

HKTDC Mobile enables buyers to source suppliers instantly. By downloading the application, iPhone users can access the (1) HKTDC B2B sourcing platform; (2) HKTDC services; and (3) the HKTDC global branch-office network.

Through HKTDC Mobile, buyers can find suppliers by product categories or by the search function. As simple as inputting the product keywords, buyers can find the relevant suppliers from the HKTDC’s community of 120,000 quality suppliers, choose from clear product photos and send enquiries directly through their iPhone in one go.

HKTDC Fairs

HKTDC organises more than 30 exhibitions every year. HKTDC Fairs allows buyers to pre-register and get free admission badges to HKTDC fairs. Buyers can access detailed trade fair information, search from the exhibitor list and look for practical tips on getting around Hong Kong .

iPhone users can download the HKTDC Mobile and HKTDC Fairs applications directly through the App Store on iPhone. For more information, please visit: www.hktdc.com/mobile.
