Fair at a Glance

Key Categories

The fair is divided into a number of zones relating to key categories in fashion and reflecting trends in the market, and these are updated every year to take account of new developments.

Salon of Scarves & Shawls brings together a huge array of items including silk squares, wool ponchos, evening wraps, knitted scarves, pashminas and embroidered stoles in an eye-catching zone designed to bring in a wide range of buyers.

Denim Arcade puts the spotlight on the perennial appeal of this fabric, displaying a wide range of clothing and accessories, including new interpretations of classic items such as jeans as well as completely fresh denim ideas.

Handbags Select focuses on a crucial sector in the fashion business, and this is the ideal place to showcase the latest on-trend products that combine quality craftsmanship and materials with unique design features.

Established zones at the fair include Brand Name Gallery, featuring premium, high-end brands; International Fashion Designers' Showcase, which focuses on collections from top talents; Fashion Gallery, showcasing trendy garments; and Garment Mart, catering to mass market fashion. Other featured zones cover Bridal & Evening Wear, Infant & Children' s Wear, Intimate & Swim Wear, World of Fashion Accessories, Fabrics & Yarn, Sewing Supplies and Trade Services.

Effective Exposure

The show offers exhibitors the opportunity to show off their garments and accessories to full effect with a series of runway shows and fashion parades, attended by buyers and international media.

Trend Forecasting

Market intelligence is another important facet of Fashion Week. Its trend seminars, delivered by professional style forecasting agencies, provide information and interpretation on key trends in markets around the world.

Quality Buyers

The fair organiser, HKTDC, operates a network of more than 40 offices all around the globe. It works hard to identify quality buyers in all markets, but especially in emerging economies, and bring them to Hong Kong so they can connect with new suppliers, pinpoint fresh directions and evolve their business.

Exhibitors' Comments

"In the Fall/Winter 2011 edition, we successfully secured four new customers from Thailand, Spain and Turkey. This time, we’ve already met with over 30 buyers from different places including Hong Kong, Chinese mainland, Spain, UK and USA. We expect to establish contacts with up to 120 buyers at the fair for potential business development."
Shoko Nagata, Sales Manager, Pure Tone Co., Ltd., Japan

"With 25 outlets nationwide in the Philippines, Banana Peel is the country's largest specialty retailer of flip flops. We've received many enquiries from customers including those from France and Hong Kong. We expect to conclude deals with at least 70 to 80 per cent of the business contacts we get from the exhibition."
Jenie D. Dongallo, Franchise Coordinator, Neat Inc., The Philippines

"The response from buyers has been better than our expectation. Many visitors including those from Australia, USA, France and UK have expressed strong interest in our collections. We are very happy with the results with several orders already confirmed by buyers."
Sally Wong, Director, Borsetta Company Ltd., Hong Kong

Buyers' Comments

"My company specialises in fashion accessories, particularly all styles of handbags, and this is what I am primarily looking to source here. I will place orders during the fair - in fact, I have already made one order on the first day. This fair is excellent - it really is one of the best I have ever attended."
Rakesh Khandelwal, President, Ricki Designs Inc., USA

"We are now the country's biggest TV-based, online and mobile shopping business with an annual turnover of about three trillion won. So far, about 10 new suppliers from India, Japan, Korea and Chinese mainland have been identified and we are planning to place orders. I like the fair very much. People are very kind and helpful here."
M.R. Shin, Manager, e-Fashion Business Team,
CJ O Shopping, Korea

"Lewre has currently own brand stores in over 10 countries worldwide. We work strategically with international designers including top designers in London and those in Hong Kong. At the fair, we've found several companies from India, Korea, Indonesia and Chinese mainland for the supply of leather goods, bags and fashion accessories. We wish to finalise US$200,000 to US$300,000 worth of business with them if everything goes well."
