Delivering the goods to buyers
Exhibitors from all over the world offering thousands of products means an abundance of sourcing opportunities at the Hong Kong Houseware Fair 2012. Asia’s largest trade fair for home-related products featured more than 2,000 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions in 2011, catering to more than 24,000 buyers from 131 countries and regions. For the 27th edition in 2012, more than 2,100 exhibitors are expected.
Location matters
The numbers are impressive but it's not all about the numbers. The Hong Kong location of the fair places buyers in one of the world's major trading hubs. Hong Kong is easily accessible, has high communication skills and supports traders with superb facilities and best-practice services. The fair’s downtown location at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre is also part of the attraction.
Opportunities multiplied
The world's largest trade fair for gifts, HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, quickly follows the Houseware Fair, which closes on 23 April, at the HKCEC. From 27 to 30 April, 2012, the Gifts & Premium Fair complements the sourcing opportunities of the Houseware Fair.

HKTDC Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair will be held concurrently with the Houseware Fair, offering extra sourcing opportunities for both home and contract furnishing. Products include bedding, carpets, decorative fabrics & curtains and kitchen textile products.

We visited the Hong Kong Houseware Fair For the first time in 2011 to source new merchandise from good suppliers for our shops. At the fair, we met 20 suppliers we have already been working with and found some new suppliers as well, especially those from Chinese mainland and Taiwan. We placed about US$400,000 worth of orders with them, involving a wide range of products such as steam mops, racking and bathroom accessories. I’m pleased with the visit and the networking in particular has been very useful.”

“Buyers have been sharing with us their challenge in identifying suppliers who are willing to sell small orders.
