Top-class International Jewellery Design Master

Wallace Chan worked as an apprentice in traditional Chinese carving in 1973, and immersed in the curvature techniques of Oriental art. In 1987, he created the “Wallace Cut” - a carving technique combining cameo, intaglio and gem faceting. It brought him the Hong Kong Jewelry Design Grand Award. He hosted exhibtion at the Intergem Fair in Idar Oberstein, Germany in 1991, the press coverage on his works as “Prodigy from Asia”. In 1992, Chan was the first Asian designer had his work exhibited at Deutsches Edelstein Museum. He then hosted a solo-exhibition in Takashimaya, Ginza, Tokyo, Japan in 1995. In 2000, he designed and completed the Great Stupa for Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Memorial Art Museum, Taiwan. Chan became key adviser to the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Shanghai in 2002. He was commissioned to design and make Corum Buckingham Vision jadeite wristwatches (one pair), a one-of-a-kind timepiece using patented jadeite thinning and luminosity enhancing technology in 2003. In 2005, selected jewellery works of Chan were auctioned at Christie's.
