Exhibitors' Comments
- “We developed G-link, a silver jewellery brand with unique designs four years ago. South East Asia and the Chinese mainland are our major markets. We see this show as the perfect platform to promote our brand. We have met quality buyers in these few days, especially those from Eastern Europe and received orders onsite. In addition, an Indian buyer, who is going to open 300 shops in India, is very interested in distributing our brand there.”
Gigi Cheng, Creative Director, G-Link Jewelry Design Limited, Hong Kong - “Our group specializes in manufacturing and marketing GIA-certified loose diamonds and finished jewellery. We have participated in this show for many years because this show serves as an effective marketing platform for us to get new clients in this region. Now, we are focusing on the mainland market. We’ve met with a lot of clients from the Chinese mainland and other Asian countries and regions such as Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand and also received orders at this show. We are very happy with the business results. This is the best Hong Kong International Jewellery Show we’ve ever attended.”
Nirav Virani, Director (India Division), Hini Star Limited, Hong Kong - “As the largest jewellery manufacturer in Peru, our company has 26 years of experience in producing14k, 18k or 22k gold or silver jewellery items covering bracelets, chains, earrings, bangles and rings. Our major markets include Europe, North America and South America. We visited this show in the past two years, but this year we show our products here for the first time. We are happy to see that most of our existing customers have come to this show to look at our new collections. We are keen to expand into the Chinese mainland market, so we are looking for distributors. We have already made some new contacts mainly from the Chinese mainland and hope to meet more potential distributors at this show.”
Julio Pérez Alván, Director, ARIN S.A., Peru - “We have more than 40 years’ experience in producing hand-made and exclusive fine jewellery set with diamonds, gemstones or jade. We have exhibited at this show since 2007, but this is the first year that we move our booth from the Hall of Jade Jewellery to the Hall of Extraordinary which is the best place to promote our unique and exclusive jewellery to the right buyers. This year, we want to find new buyers from Southeast Asia. Up till now, we have met with quality buyers from the Chinese mainland, Indonesia and Vietnam and also given them the prices.”
Alan Chun, Director, Gaily Jewellery Company Limited, Hong Kong - “We offer loose diamonds up to 10 carats and ready-to-wear jewellery. This is our seventh year at this show. It provides an excellent platform for us to show our new products and services to existing customers and also to meet new customers to explore new business opportunities. This is an international show where we have met with visitors from all over the world. The retail market performed better last December. We see positive momentum at this show as buyers are more confident to place orders now. So far, buyers from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand have placed orders for our loose diamonds. For finished jewellery, we have received orders from many buyers especially those from Asia and the Middle East. We are cautiously optimistic about this year’s business.”
Vishal P. Mehta, Director, Dimexon (Hong Kong) Limited, Hong Kong - “In business for 40 years, our company offers fancy coloured diamonds and jewellery as well as matching pairs, targeting at the high-end market. Currently, we sell 70 per cent of our products to the Chinese mainland, 20 per cent to Asia and the remaining 10 per cent to other places in the world. This is our sixth year at this show. Many existing clients have visited our booth. We have also made new connections with buyers from Asia especially those from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. In fact, the demand for fancy coloured diamonds is growing rapidly in the mainland market. Fancy coloured diamonds like pink ones and large-sized yellow ones have become an investment tool as their value is increasing. So far, we have taken orders from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong. We expect more orders to come after this show.”
Rom Amir, Managing Director, Asteria Diamonds (HK) Ltd, Hong Kong - “Our company owns the distributorship of ‘Bonds of Union’ for the Asian market. ‘Bonds of Union’ is a new jewellery brand from the UK that has a strong appeal to consumers due to its high quality and unique designs. We are participating in this show for the first time to increase our brand exposure and market our brand to retailers and distributors. This show is the right platform for us to achieve these goals because many industry players come to this show to sell or buy jewellery products. Buyers are particularly interested in our enchanting diamond collection that glows in the dark as well as our packaging and displays. So far, we’ve talked to buyers from Asia, Australia and the US. We are confident that we’ll be able to identify potential suitable retailers and distributors at this fair.”
Shima Azman, Managing Director, Bonds of Union, Malaysia - “Based in Cyprus, we specialise in manufacturing solitaire rings in platinum or 18k gold, with Europe being our major market. Last year, we expanded into coloured gemstone jewellery to meet market needs. In the past seven years, we came to this show as visitors. This year, we are exhibiting at this show for the first time. We are particularly keen to look for new buyers from the US, Asia and Dubai. Since Asia is a big market, this show also offers us a good opportunity to know more about the Asian market and its jewellery trends. It is a very good show which attracts many buyers from all over the world.”
Roula Skari, General Manager, Andros Skaris Ltd, Cyprus - “Established in 1997 in London, our company designs and manufactures high-quality gemstone jewellery which is sold to every part of the world. Our fine gemstones are supplied by our German-based parent company which has more than 100 years of history in the gemstone cutting business. This is our first-time exhibition at this show. We want to introduce our new designs to international buyers and we are interested in expanding our business in Asia especially the Chinese mainland market. We like this show because it is a high-quality event that features all kinds of jewellery as well as loose diamonds, pearls and gemstones all under one roof, drawing many buyers to come to this show. So far, the business atmosphere here has been positive.”

Buyers' Comments
- “In business for 75 years, Nathella operates seven jewellery stores in the southern part of India. It is our second time visit to this show. It is a perfect venue for us to find new products and keep abreast of the design trends and production technologies. We have identified 3-4 suppliers that can provide diamond and yellow gold jewellery with good quality and nice designs. So far, we have placed US$1 million worth of diamond and yellow gold jewellery. The demand for diamond and yellow gold jewellery is increasing in India because our consumers like to buy diamonds and gold as an investment. We plan to open two more shops this year.”
Prasanna Kumar, Director, Nathella, India - “Based in Malaysia, my company has an Internet shop and a showroom selling all kinds of jewellery products which are designed and hand made by myself. Currently, I purchase raw materials like 14k gold, crystals, semi-precious stones and beads and fresh water pearls from Hong Kong, Thailand and the US. This is my first visit to this show. I come here to look for new suppliers and to see what other manufacturers are doing. Rather than following their design trends, I create something different for my customers. So far, I have placed some orders worth around USD10,000 while some orders are still under negotiation. It is a great show with many exhibitors covering the whole spectrum of the jewellery industry. Definitely, I’ll visit this show again next year.”
Jaslena Ahmad, Managing Director, Style Ventures Sdn Bhd, Malaysia - “Our company is a jewellery manufacturer and retailer, with 250 jewellery shops in Russia. Seventy per cent of our jewellery items are imported mainly from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong while the remainder is produced by our factory. In view of increasing demand for jewellery in Russia, we plan to increase the number of outlets to 400 by 2015. A total of seven people from our company including myself are attending this show to see the latest machinery and tools available for jewellery production and to look for new suppliers of diamond and gold jewellery. This is our fifth year visiting this show. Most of our existing suppliers come from this show. As every supplier has its own designs, we can bring more varieties to our shops.”
Josef Ada, Moscow Jewellery Factory, Chief of Production, Russia - “Our group is an importer and wholesaler of fine jewellery, supplying jewellery shops and department stores all over the world. We just started to offer fashion jewellery which creates a feel of fine jewellery, yet it is stylish and more affordable. We have been attending this show in the past five years. We have our own designs and brands and our jewellery products are produced by top jewellery manufacturers. We’ve come to this show to see what’s new in the industry especially design ideas, trends, technology, techniques and processes. This show also serves as a great platform for us to see how jewellery manufacturers are making use of different materials in their products.”
Ramona Genao, Executive Vice President, Richline Group, the US - “We operate 50 jewellery shops in Mexico, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic. Currently, we are selling silver jewellery, but we want to upgrade our shops by adding gold jewellery. We have been to the Hong Kong International Jewellery show for many years because this show provides a good variety of jewellery products and we find the right suppliers here. At this year’s show, we hope to find new suppliers not just for silver jewellery but also for gold jewellery while meeting existing suppliers. Though we just started our sourcing at this show, it looks promising as there are a lot of good suppliers. We are particularly interested in the jewellery products offered by exhibitors from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.”
Daniel Espinosa de los Monteros, Director & Head Designer, Daniel Espinosa Jewelry, Mexico - “Delmar is a wholesaler of diamond, gemstone, gold and silver jewellery, supplying department stores and jewellery retailers in Canada and the US. This is our eighth year attending this show. The Hong Kong fair is a good place to see new materials and new designs for inspirations and also to make new contacts. This year, we are particularly looking for gold jewellery with diamonds and gold jewellery with gemstones which are trendy items in our markets. The show offers lots of choices and beautiful ideas. Though it’s just the first day, we’ve already found 3-4 potential suppliers from the Chinese mainland. We’re collecting more details before finalising our orders.”
