Winners of International Jewellery Design Excellence Award announced
Russian designer wins “Champion of the Champions” title
second time in a row

 

6 March 2013 - Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 30th edition of the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for five consecutive days kickoff yesterday. At the “Glitter of Pearls” networking reception held yesterday evening (5 March), the results of the “International Jewellery Design Excellence Award 2013” were also announced. Russian designer Ilgiz F was titled “Champion of the Champions” for his works named “Butterflies”.

 

Ilgiz F was the previous winner of the award. This year he won the “Champion of the Champions” title for a second time with his Butterflies ring and earring collection. Solar eclipse and butterflies were the inspiration of the design that reveals the beauties of nature and grandeur.

 

Aimed at recognising professional elites from around the world, the International Jewellery Design Excellence Award is a biennial event organised by the HKTDC jointly with Hong Kong Jewellers’ and Goldsmiths’ Association, Hong Kong Jewellery and Jade Manufacturers Association, Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong. Only jewellery designers who have won the championship of jewellery design competitions in the last two years are eligible to compete for the highest honour, “Champion of the Champions”. For the competition this year, a record breaking of 187 entries from 28 countries and regions have been received. The winning designs are showcased at Hall 1C during the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show.

 

The 30th edition of the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show attracts the participation of more than 3,300 jewellery exhibitors from 49 countries and regions, a record in the history of the Show.
