We mainly sell our semiconductors such as chips as well as LED components and modules to the Chinese mainland which is the world's largest consumer market in recent years. Taking part in this fair because we wish to further promote our brand to our existing and potential clients who want their products to meet international standards. We are here also to highlight our LED components which can transform existing inefficient luminaires into energy efficient lighting significantly lower maintenance costs. In terms of LED lighting, it is without doubt that the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is the No 1 lighting show in Asian Pacific region and we will keep coming back.”

Employing more than 2,000 workers, our factory now focuses in the production of exquisite custom-made chandeliers which are being used by prestigious clients worldwide, including the Venetian Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, Four Seasons Hotel Macau and The Langham Hotel London, to name but a few. We have been participating this fair for many years, trying to attract new international clients. Enquiries keep coming in during the fair which is great for us to promote our brand image in such a convenient and superb location.”
Chow Lai Kuen, Director, Diamond Life Lighting Mfg (HK) Ltd, Hong Kong

“Citizen Electronics is a Japanese company which belongs to the Citizen Holding Group. This is our 8th year getting involved in the production of lighting LEDs and we are one of the first LED suppliers who make the OCB. Unlike previous year which we tried to get new customers, we are now concentrating on helping our existing customers to better use our LEDs by showing them more ideas on how they could make use of other accessories to make a good product or develop a desirable lighting system. Of those who have showed interest in our products, they are mainly manufacturers looking for new technologies and project managers exploring the use of LEDs in their own architectural projects. Since we are focusing on the Chinese mainland and South East Asian manufacturers, this fair is definitely the best place to get good connections with them.”
Eric Au-Yeung, Sales Manager (Hong Kong), Citizen Electronics Co., Ltd, Japan

4.

“Wooree Lighting is a leading Korean lighting company with 36 years of history in providing lighting source. Since we entered the LED market five years ago, we have achieved a remarkable growth in LED business with more than 70 per cent of our business coming from the sales of LED. This is our first international lighting fair and we wish to take this opportunity to meet face to face with potential buyers from countries where we do not have our own distributors, such as Japan, Taiwan and the UK. These contacts are valuable and we are going to keep the good leads we have obtained here.”
Lucy Lee, Assistant Manager Overseas Sales, Wooree Lighting Holdings, Korea

5.

“Established in 2001, Edison Opto Corporation, now listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, specialises in high power LED lighting. We get about 60 per cent of our business overseas while the remaining 40 per cent coming from the Chinese mainland. Against the sluggish global economy in 2012, this fair, which we have been joining since 2004, gives us a valuable chance to get our products enough exposure while planning ahead for growth in 2013. The Hong Kong fair is always on our list of top three because geographically, this is the best place for international buyers looking for mainland products. We are delighted that our booth has been attracting a lot of distributors and direct clients from around the world, resulting in satisfactory outcomes and meeting our targets.”
Porsche Chen, China Region Sales Manager, Edison Opto Corporation, Taiwan

“We are designer and manufacturer of natural wooden lamps from Thailand where our real wood lamps are handmade and ocean-freighted to our customers in Europe. Participating this fair because we hope to meet new international customers and maintain a good relationship with existing clients. Here we can meet potential buyers from Canada, the US and emerging markets like Eastern Europe, such as Romania and Russia. With our unique products, we have attracted lots of potential buyers and most of them are wholesalers and importers. Lighting Fair is one of our main fairs for meeting buyers and we have been joining this for the past three years. We are delighted that the response and outcome have been pretty good so far.”
Korakot Ekthanutt, Managing Director, Asian Design House, Co., Ltd, Thailand

“Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is the only lighting fair we do internationally every year because it gives us the perfect opportunity to meet with all representatives of our distributors from around the world. October is a perfect timing for us to plan ahead for our sales in the coming year while showcasing our new product lineup to our distributors. Next year we expect to see a massive growth in the straight forward replacement of light bulb in domestic marketing, especially in Europe. We also foresee a developing new module technology on professional platform. Bigger effort is being put in Asian market by doing specialised and focused marketing. In terms of product development, we are going to tailor certain products to better suit the Asian clients, making sure we can get the penetration in Asia as we have achieved in Europe.”
Fred Bass, Director, Neonlite International Limited, United Kingdom

8.

“Our company will be focusing in the coming years on strengthening our marketing efforts in illumination, which is one of the strategic parts of our key business categories. The sale of LED, still in its infancy, has just started climbing in the illumination market, so there is certainly room for further growth. In this fast-changing market, customers are looking for energy efficient products so this year we launched the middle power LED to cater our customers' needs. Compared to the lighting fairs on the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is very mature and international, giving us a greater access to overseas markets and a varied international audience. We appreciate HKTDC for providing such a convenient platform for our senior management team to meet potential clients face to face.”
Sean Zhou, Regional Marketing Manager – Asia, Philips Lumileds Lighting Company, USA

“This is my first time coming to Hong Kong, searching for new design and new technology in lighting. My company, Solar Youth Ent., operates as importer and exporter of LED lighting while designing lighting effects for our products. Normally we sources directly from factories in Taiwan and the components will be shipped to the Chinese mainland where they are assembled into what we want. We come here to explore the possibility of direct sourcing from the mainland. The fair is very nice, offering a wide range of new and good quality lighting parts for selection and I have already found what I want. Hopefully I can obtain the detailed pricing information from the suppliers by email in one or two days. In general, the fair is very conveniently located and coming here is much cheaper than going to the lighting fairs in Europe.”

“The Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is one the most popular among buyers from the lighting industry. In this top notch international lighting fair, I am allowed to meet face to face with the potential suppliers from the Chinese mainland where the lighting components, such as drivers and lamp holders, are produced. The main recipients of our product exports, about 90 per cent, are from North America while South America makes up the remaining 10 per cent. The scale of this year fair is much larger than that of previous year with more people visiting the venue than ever before. In other words, there is plenty of opportunity for us to look for products best suited our application. A large amount of useful information was provided by the HKTDC, helping buyers like us to quickly identify potential suppliers for further discussion. So far I have managed to have solid discussion with about 20 exhibitors on a tight schedule.”
Glenn Ye, General Manager, McWong Smart (Beijing) Co., Ltd., the Chinese mainland

8.

“Our company is six years old and we mainly work on design projects and energy saving projects. Most of our supplies, about 80 per cent, are from the UK and other European countries, with the remaining 20 per cent provided by the Chinese mainland manufacturers. Apart from looking for eco lighting products, I come to this fair to meet some manufacturers to see their latest development because technology has been developed a lot faster for the LEDs in mainland than elsewhere. Besides, this is an ideal place where I can look for good mainland products at the right price. Generally speaking, the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair is the best lighting fair in terms of showcasing LED products. The exhibitors are great in giving response and next year I will certainly come back.”
Paul Hindle, Director, Lumenata Lighting Design Ltd, United Kingdom
