Unique metal tooling software achieves success in major markets worldwide
A business is easy to establish, but difficult to maintain. Whenever small- or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) develop a new concept, their product's initial success and long-term prospects are always dependent on the efficiency of its operation mode. Bearing such business realities in mind, 3D QuickTools Ltd. has devised an innovative operation mode which enables SMEs to collaborate strategically with high quality agents in other major world markets. The company's ingenuity has now been recognized with the ‘Best Collaboration Grand Award' from the Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards 2009.
The company's unique 3D metal tooling design software features two core products - 3DQuickPress and 3DQuickForm. Each has been specifically designed for various metal-related industries. Specific applications include automotive, aircraft, furniture, architectural, precision metal stamping and precision electronics, etc.
When asked to explain the vision behind the new software, Mr. Daniel Lai, 3D QuickTools' Sales and Marketing Director, was frank in admitting that his company was focused on global rather than local markets. “Our ultimate objective is to use these products as entry points and using major overseas markets as our development platform”, said Mr. Lai. “In establishing a solid international reseller network, we wish our metal tooling design software to meet the stringent demand from customer base. This will not only increase our sales, but also clearly differentiate us from our software engineering competitors”, he added.
Precise software earns trust in major markets in Germany, Japan and the US
Starting from 2003, 3D QuickTools has steadily built up a network of many of the world's most prestigious names in the global engineering software industry. It did so by leveraging its understanding that these world leaders needed sophisticated metal tooling design software whose outstanding functions would accelerate both their development and production. Precisely meeting both needs, 3D Tools' 3DQuickPress and 3DQuickForm software programs were exactly what these clients were looking for.
Currently, there are just three or four types of similar solutions for the worldwide metal industry. 3D QuickTools' software programs' success results from offering end-users convenient functions such as geometric feature recognition, metal forming simulation, punch and die design automation and many other highly specialized applications. Mr. Lai said: “Our programs now serve over 600 customers in 23 countries and have been acclaimed by leading manufacturers worldwide. Following our successful launch in US, we have now entered lucrative German and Japanese markets through our network of collaborative partners. As these two countries account for nearly 30% of global metal production, the future looks very bright indeed”.
