HKTDC Singapore Branch Office
WHAT: The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has opened its newest branch office in Singapore.
The HKTDC now has 46 offices around the world, including 24 in Asia. The Council’s presence in the region and around the world helps connect international enterprises to partners in Hong Kong, and promote Hong Kong’s advantages as a central business district in Asia.

WHO: More than 400 businesspeople from Hong Kong and Singapore attended the reception, which was officiated by HKTDC Executive Director Margaret Fong. Among the guests were Seah Moon Ming, Chairman of International Enterprise Singapore and Zheng Chao, Minister Counsellor (Economic and Commercial) of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Singapore.
WHY: Through the Singapore Branch Office, the HKTDC aims to strengthen support for Hong Kong small- and medium-sized enterprises entering ASEAN markets.
Singapore is Hong Kong’s largest trading partner in ASEAN with bilateral trade exceeding US$41.1 billion in 2014, a year-on-year increase of 5.1 per cent. Singapore is also Hong Kong’s ninth-largest export market. Last year, Hong Kong exports to Singapore rose 2.2 per cent to US$7.7 billion, while imports from Singapore grew 5.8 per cent to US$33.5 billion.
