Introduction Approved by the State Council, Beihai Export Processing Zone (Beihai EPZ) was established in March 2003 with a total planned area of 1.5 km2. Among all the zones in West China, it is the nearest export processing zone to the ASEAN countries.

Beihai EPZ is located in the west wing of Beihai city, next to Beihai Port and 3 km away from the heart of the city. It is also situated just 17 km away from the entrance of Nanbei expressway, which connects Beihai with Guilin, Chongqing, Guangzhou and other Chinese cities.

In addition, Beihai EPZ is adjoined to inbound railway and marshalling stations, and is 27 km away from Fucheng Airport, which is one of the three largest airports in Guangxi. There are more than 20 air routes leading to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities.
Investment Climate In 2010, the total export and import value of Beihai EPZ was US$1.07 billion, up 320% compared to the same period of the previous year, and accounting for 53% of city’s total.

As of the end of June 2010, there were more then 30 registered enterprises in Beihai EPZ. These enterprises are mainly engaged in electronic technology, food processing, new materials and biopharmaceuticals.
