Introduction
 
Xianyang is located in the center of Shaanxi Province, with a land area of 10,213 sq km, and population of 5.0 million. It is a mere 24 km away from Xi'an, the capital city of Shaanxi province.

Xianyang has a continental season and wind climate, with an average annual temperature of 11.6°C.

The Xianyang area is rich in natural resources such as coal, limestone, potter’s earth, ore, marble, oil shale, oil, spring water, underground heat water, et cetera. and so on.

Xianyang has a well developed aviation transportation capacity, due to its Xi'an Xianyang International Airport, which ranked eighth in terms of passenger throughput in China in 2009.
 
Economic Features
 
Xianyang realized GDP of RMB 109.87 billion in 2010, up 14.5% year-on-year, and accounting for approximately 14% of the province's total.

Xianyang has seven major industries, namely food processing, equipment manufacturing, building materials, pharmaceuticals, energy and chemicals, textile and garment, electronics. The anterior five pillar industries realized industrial output of RMB 91.9 billion in total, accounting for 94.1% of the city's total from enterprises with designated size and above. 

Within the same year, the total export and import value amounted to US$340 million, a increase of 29.7% year-on-year. Among them, the export of fruit juice and fresh fruits accounted for 30% of the city's total.

Tourism is also important in Xianyang. In 2010, the tourist reception of Xianyang reached 18.5 million visitors, realizing a total tourism income of RMB 8.3 billion, up 18.3% year-on-year.
 
Cultural Highlights
 
Xianyang iswas famous for being one of the famous ancient capitals of China. The Qin Dynasty was, the first Chinese empire to bewas set up in Xianyang in 221 B.C. Xianyang, along with its environs, was also the capital city of a furtherother twelve12 dynasties, including Zhou, Han, and Tang, et cetera.
 
 
Tourist Attraction
 
There are almost five-thousand4,951 historical sites and cultural relics in Xi’an, eighty-five of which and 85 of them are under the protection of state and provincial governments; this figure includes, such as the mausoleums of twenty-eight28 emperors, including such as Gaozu Liu Bang, the first Emperor of the Western Han Dynasty (206 B.C.-24 A.D.), Taizong Li Shimin, the second Emperor of the Tang Dynasty(618 A.D.-907 A.D.), et cetera.
 
Major Development Zones
 

By the end of 2010, Xianyang had the only agricultural high-tech industries demonstration zone in China. The Administrative Committee of the Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industries Demonstration Zone is authorized by the State Council, with the prefectural power in administrative affairs and, provincial- level power in economic management.
