12 October 2009 – More than 2,800 exhibitors will take part in the world’s largest electronics fair, the 29th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), which opens tomorrow and continues through 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in Wan Chai.
Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) introduces six new product zones: Testing, Inspection & Certification; Computers & Peripherals; Digital Imaging; Electronic Gaming; Healthcare Electronics; and Digital World. Testing, inspection and certification is one of the Hong Kong Government’s six new industry pillars.
“Electronics is an important industry for Hong Kong, accounting for more than half of our total exports,” said Raymond Yip, Assistant Executive Director of HKTDC, speaking at the press preview today for the two fairs. “The Electronic Fair’s Hall of Fame this year has set a new record, featuring more than 390 brands, including such well-known companies as Coby, Daewoo International, Desay, Egoman, Goodway, Haier, Hyundai, Oregon Scientific, Shinco, Skyworth, TCL and Vtech,” he added.
The Electronics Fair will be complemented by electronicAsia – Asia’s top trade show for electronic components, assemblies, production and display technology. The fair is organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd under the theme “Connecting Tomorrow’s World Today.”
