The HKTDC Mobile app was honoured in three categories: Best International Business Mobile Application, Best Portal Mobile Application and Best Small Business Mobile Application.
The HKTDC Product Magazines app, meanwhile, took top honours for Best Catalog Mobile Application and Best E-Zine Mobile Application.
Last month, the HKTDC Mobile app also took the Award of Distinction in the Mobile category at the 18th Communicator Awards 2012, organised by the International Academy of the Visual Arts of the US. It’s the second time the Academy has recognised the HKTDC app, which won the Award of Distinction in the Interactive category last year.
Awards of Distinction are presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement.
The HKTDC Mobile app allows iOS and Android device users access to the latest market intelligence and information about products and services from suppliers listed on the HKTDC’s sourcing site (hktdc.com). Nearly 70,000 buyers have downloaded the app since its launch in 2009.
The HKTDC Product Magazines app offers HKTDC product magazines and fair catalogues. Its suite of interactive functions helps connect buyers and suppliers. Features include the pioneering Exhibitor Scanner, which employs the latest QR Code technology, enabling buyers with iOS or Android devices to capture exhibitor information at HKTDC trade fair booths. This feature has been well-received by traders, with recent HKTDC fair surveys finding that about 80 per cent of surveyed buyers and 85 per cent of exhibitors finding it useful. Some 80 per cent of exhibitors were scanned by buyers via this feature at April 2012 fairs.
The app also offers search functions, interactive floor plans, event schedules and other fair details. Near 80,000 buyers have downloaded the app since its launch in early 2011.
“The HKTDC is committed to providing user-friendly services that respond to the fast-growing world of mobile sourcing,” said Sophia Chong, HKTDC Director, Publications & E-Commerce.
