This page provides general information about visa requirements for travel to Malta. As the application requirements might change from time to time, you are advised to check with the relevant consulate if you are in doubt or require further details.

Please note that as of November 17th, 2006 the Consulate General of Austria in Hong Kong is representing Malta in processing visa applications. Visa application for Malta must be submitted to the Consulate General of Austria in Hong Kong by hand. Electronic submission will not be accepted.

HKSAR passport holders do not need an entry visa for Malta. Holders of BNO passport are exempted from the need of a visa to enter Malta provided that their stay does not exceed 3 months. Holders of DI have to apply for an entry visa. The Consulate General of Austria in Hong Kong is authorised to process visa applications for Hong Kong and Macao residents (holders of a valid Hong Kong or Macao ID Card).
