Shippers Today 32#3 Logistic services with a difference
 

It's pretty hard to pin down trends in logistics in this market. What we can see is that air cargo demand is hovering in the negative 20-30% region since the end of last year. Seafreight has similar numbers on decline, and with the upcoming 'peak season' that would traditionally have started in April, there would be a small upwards tug to these figures but not enough to pull them out of the doldrums.

 
Hong Kong Airport Authority launches relief package
 
The Board of the Airport Authority (AA) announced on April 27, a relief package of HK$450 million to assist airlines and other operators whose business at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has been adversely affected by the global economic downturn. The relief package, comprises $200 million worth of reductions in charges and $250 million interest-free, deferred payments, starting April 2009.
