How Hong Kong uses Belgian technology to take care of its trash

The Belgium-Hong Kong Society will hold a business seminar follwed by cockatails and networking on Tuesday 17 September from 1800-2100 hrs at De Warande in Brussels.

Ivan Christiaens, General Manager of Keppel Seghers Belgium, will deliver the keynote speech. He will talk abou the building of an Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) off the coast of Shek Kwu Chau, south of Lantau Island, Hong Kong. 

By the end of 2017, Keppel Infrastructure Holdings Pte Ltd (Keppel Infrastructure) and China Harbour Engineering Limited, through thier respective subsidaries, secured a €3 billion project to design, build and operate an IWMF. 

This is Hong Kong's first IWMF for municipal solid waste and it is a key part of Hong Kong's waste management strategy for the future, combining recycling and waste reduction in landfills with production so green electricity. The project contributes to raising a higher awarenesss for a green strategy in Hong Kong.
