According to the latest survey report released by HKTDC Research, only 38% of the surveyed parents have bought toys as gift. Yet, the average budget of the overall budget has gone up from Rmb74 in 2010 to Rmb175 in 2014. Economist Alice Tsang recommended industry players must strengthen the packing design and brand positioning of their toy products when tapping the gift market.
