Overall, 2016 should not be too painful a year for Hong Kong exporters. It should instead see a more stable - but still unspectacular - external trade environment pushing against continued headwinds. Barring any jolts arising from a renewed global downturn, adverse geopolitical developments or increased security concerns, the forecast is for Hong Kong exports to have zero growth in 2016.
