Mainland watch buyers are now more concerned about fashion and style than price or reliability, while also being more likely to own multiple timepieces. Coupled with an array of new purchasing channels and distinct differences in both gender and geographical buying preferences, the watch market has changed beyond recognition over recent years. Economist Alice Tsang analyses the findings of HKTD Research’s 2016 survey of mainland watch buyers.
