According to a recent HKTDC Research survey, 81% of the mainland middle-class consumers expect their income to continue to increase in the coming two to three years. Taking regular exercise, online shopping, travel and eating western food have come to characterise the middle-class lifestyle. Compared to the older age groups, post-80s generation consumers have a more western lifestyle and shop more online via smartphone apps.
