Get timely updates on trends affecting your industry, stay on top of new opportunities and watch trade events highlights. Produced by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
China ended its long-standing one child policy in 2016, allowing couples to have two children for the first time in 38 years. HKTDC has conducted research into the current spending preferences of middle-class mainland parents with regard to baby and child products, as well as their pre-purchase considerations and their favoured purchase channels. In order to evaluate the impact of the end of the one-child policy, the 2017 results were compared with a similar HKTDC survey dating back to 2013.
