Nanya Technology sees sales surge in Oct

Nanya Technology Corp, the second-largest chip maker by revenue in Taiwan, saw its sales revenue reach a 32-month high of nearly NT$5.68 billion in October, sources reported.

The October sales revenue figure reflects a 24% month-on-month increase or a 75% year-on-year increase, thanks to strong demand and an increase in the price of dynamic random access memory chips.

Inotera Memories Inc, a joint venture with Micron Technology Inc, in October saw its sales revenue reach NT$3.76, reflecting growth of 8% from a month earlier or growth of 16.75% compared with last October.

Although Nanya's sales revenue slid 6% from a year earlier to NT$31.44 billion in the first ten months, the firm expects to see a sales peak in the fourth quarter of this year because prices of DRAM chips are increasing.
