Taiwan-based Asustek Computer Inc, a leading provider of computers, communications products and consumer electronics, has set itself the goal of becoming one of the top three notebook PC makers in the global market within three years, according to the firm's CEO Jerry Shen, sources reported.
Asus is currently the fifth-largest notebook PC maker in the global market and expects to take the fourth place in the next year and the third place in 2011, said Shen, explaining that the firm is on track to implement the plan.
Strength in technological innovation will help Asus win out, since the world's four largest notebook makers all outsource design work to original design manufacturers. Asus plans create more diversification to grab market share, added Shen.
Asus, creator of the popular netbook, is now working on super slim notebook PC products in order to fulfill different customers' needs.
Pre-installed Windows 7 Asus PCs will reportedly be available starting today. The new operating system will launch a new round of PC sales and increase PC demand.
