China's Guangxi Autonomous Region, north of Vietnam, has reduced or eliminated CNY168,700 (US$24,711) from container truck highway tolls from July 10 to 31, Xinhua reported.

The toll reduction scheme has benefited 1,400 trucks on expressways with an amount of CNY150,000 as well as 1,132 trucks using highways with an amount of CNY18,700.

The region introduced the scheme on July 10 for container trucks from or to seaports and overland customs checkpoints to stimulate growth in the regional economy.
