Xiamen sees property transaction area soar 170% in 4 months

 

 
Xiamen, a major city in Fujian Province, saw property transaction area hit 1.68 million square meters (sq m) in the first four months of this year, a sharp year-on-year increase of 170.42%, according to market sources.

In the period from January to April, the city's residential property transaction area reached 1.38 million sq m, skyrocketing 353.03% compared with the same period of last year. Second-hand residential property transaction area amounted to 724,400 sq m, surging 170.78% year on year.

In April alone, the city's second-hand residential property transaction area totaled 354,200 sq m, soaring 121% year on year.

Last month, the average residential property price in Xiamen City was RMB 7,344 per sq m, up 13.82% month on month. The average residential property price on Xiamen Island was RMB 9,948 per sq m, down 1.22% month on month, while the average residential property price outside Xiamen Island was RMB 5,008 per sq m, up 9.92% month on month.

The average residential property price in the city's Siming District hit RMB 10,503 per sq m in April, while average prices were RMB 9,175 per sq m in Huli District, RMB 5,760 per sq m in Xiang'an Distric, RMB 5,367 per sq m in Haicang District, RMB 5,256 per sq m in Jimei District and RMB 4,140 per sq m in Tong'an District.
