Fujian airports report 11-month air freight volume increased 8.8pc

Airports in southeastern China's Fujian province handled 346,500 tonnes of cargo from January to November, up 8.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2010, Xinhua reports.

Xiamen airport recorded a throughput of 235,200 tonnes, up 5.4 per cent. Fuzhou airport recorded 78,800 tonnes, up 19.5 per cent.

In this period, the province's airports handled 23.5 million travellers, an increase of 14.9 per cent over the same period last year. The increase was 0.5 per cent faster than in the first ten months in 2011.

Xiamen airport's passenger throughput grew 10.1 per cent to 14.4 million persons. Fuzhou airport's passenger volume increased 11.1 per cent to 6.6 million persons.
