Fujian provincial port containerised cargo throughput up 11.8pc in 2011

Ports in southeast China's Fujian province handled 9.7 million TEU in 2011, up 11.8 per cent from 2010, Xinhua reports.
The big cross strait Port of Xiamen handled 6.5 million TEU, 10.9 per cent more than in 2010. Fuzhou port's throughput increased 12.9 per cent to 1.7 million TEU. Mazhou Bay port's rose 14.4 per cent to 1.6 million TEU.
In term of throughput, Fujian ports recorded 372 million tonnes last year, 13.9 per cent more than 2010. Xiamen's grew 12.2 per cent to 156 million tonnes. Fuzhou's increased 19.6 per cent to 102 million tonnes. Meizhou Bay's increased 11.7 per cent 114 million tonnes.
