Snow hits PetroChina's stations in Guizhou

- PetroChina <601857><857>, the nation's top oil company, said its gas stations in Guizhou were severely affected by the snow storm, which reduces its daily sales in the province by two third.

More than one third of PetroChina 's gas stations were out of power in the region, and one half of the filing stations were out of water.

On Jan. 30, there are 26 gas stations that were forced to intermittent closure. Additionally, 86 gas stations in four areas were running short of oil, as a result of the wild weather.

14 major highways are blocked, resulting in a large number of vehicles stranded on the highway and filling stations.

PetroChina has launched contingency plans to ensure supply, including strengthening the transport and oil exchange with Sinopec<600028><386>, another major oil company in China. On Jan. 29, its Guiyang branch took measures to put 400 tons of oil in the capital city. Furthermore, PetroChina put more than 800 tons of oil in the entire province, to ease the severe oil shortage.
