Hainan's port throughput increases 14.3pc in first 10 months

Ports in South China's Hainan province posted a 14.3 per cent growth in throughput to 91.57 million tonnes in the first 10 months, reports Xinhua.
The provincial ports' foreign trade cargo volume increase 11.5 per cent to 16.99 million tonnes while container throughput grew 31.5 per cent to 886,000 TEU.
The province's Haikou port moved 37.9 million tonnes during the same period, up 19 per cent, which included 70,000 TEU.
Yangpu port area transported 26.04 million tonnes of cargo including 12.78 million tonnes of foreign trade cargo, and 246,000 TEU, up 47.1 per cent year on year.
