Changsha starts scheduled container service down river to Shanghai

South China's river port, Changsha Xianing port has launched a scheduled container service to Shanghai, reports Xinhua.
Changsha is the capital city of Hunan province (pop 7.04 million) on the lower reaches of Xiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze.
Customs at both destinations provide convenient checking channel for cargo shipped by the service which runs at fixed time, rate and date, said the report.
The port now equipped with 17 cranes and 16,000 square metres of warehouse has eight berths of 1,000-tonne size with a quay shoreline of 615 metres.
