Introduction Located in East Nanchang, which is the capital of Jiangxi Province, Nanchang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Nanchang NHIDZ) was established in March, 1991. Until now, the zone has attracted around 1,000 enterprises to set up business, of which 230 are foreign-invested enterprises.

Nanchang NHIDZ has well-developed transportation networks. It is five km away from the train station and downtown area of Nanchang seven km from the long-distance bus station, seven km and twenty-five km respectively from the expressway and Changbei International Airport. Four bus lines, which connect all the urban trunk roads, commence their path from this zone.
Investment Climate In 2010, Nanchang NHIDZ realized a total GDP of RMB 20.56 billion and a value-added industrial output RMB 13.2 billion. The zone’s value-added industrial output accounted for 20.8% of the city’s total generated by enterprises of the designated size and above.

The zone’s major industries are optical-mechanical-electronic integration, biophar-maceuticals, information technology and new materials. There are over a thousand enterprise investors, including ABB, TCL, Microsoft, ZTE, JZJT Group, Huiren Group, Mitsubishi Group and Fangda Group.

In 2008, 310 new enterprises, including 10 foreign-invested enterprises, registered in Nanchang NHIDZ. During the same year, 12 large projects with a combined investment of RMB 4.35 billion were put into operation. The annual revenue of these 12 projects is expected to reach RMB 11.4 billion. In addition, there are 24 projects currently under construction with total investment of RMB 32.8 billion.

In the first four months of 2011, the utilized FDI increased by 20.2%, and reached US$ 123 million.
