Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport sets up cargo terminal in Meixian

Guangzhou's Baiyun International Airport has signed a deal with the hinterland city of Meixian on setting up a new outside air cargo collection point called a "distant cargo terminal", reports Logistics Week.

The facility is the fourth of its kind after similar cargo station have been established in Dongguan's Liaobu District, a domestic one in nearby Nancheng District and another at Zhanjiang Airport by sea 300 miles south west of Guangzhou.

Meixian Airport came under the Guangdong Airport Management Corporation, the operator of Baiyun Airport in 2004 and aims to become a feeder air hub for the northern Guangdong by 2010 and for the bordering provinces of Fujian and Jiangxi.
