Toy stars given an extra shine

With recession in Europe and the US accompanied by uncertainties in global retail markets, it was no surprise that the Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair 2009 drew fewer visitors. Some exhibitors estimated a 30% drop in visitors from last year, with a fall in sales of between 10% and 40%.

Manufacturers went for caution and lower prices; some had no choice but to resort to price cuts so that sales orders would flow and client relationships would be retained.........
