The Guangxi Autonomous Region in south west recorded a road cargo turnover volume of 54.4 billion tonnes per kilometre from January to July, an increase of 12.4 per cent compared to the same period in the preceding year, Xinhua reported.

Passenger turnover volume climbed 12 per cent to 35.7 billion persons per kilometre. Cargo and passenger turnover volume grew seven per cent to 58 billion tonnes per kilometre.

Upgrades in regional infrastructure was the reason for the growth in both Guangxi's cargo and passenger growth as well as rising demand for road transportation.
