Introduction
Chongqing is the home city of Chongqing Chayuan Industrial Park (Chongqing Chayuan IP). It is one of the four provincial-level municipalities in China (the other three being Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai) and the transportation hub of the country's southwest.
Chongqing Chayuan IP was approved and established by Chongqing's municipal government in December 2000 as a municipality-level development park.
Situated in Nan'an District (southeast of Chongqing), between the first ring road and the second ring road of the city, Chongqing Chayuan IP has a convenient transportation system. It is 12 km away from Chongqing Railway station, 32 km from Jiangbei International Airport and 15 km from the container terminal.
Chongqing is rich in advanced human resources. It is home to fifty-six colleges and universities that produced 97,500 graduates in 2007. There are four key national-level laboratories and five national-level engineering research centers located in the city. These institutions are able to provide a large, highly-skilled talent pool for the development of Chongqing Chayuan IP.
Investment Climate
Chongqing Chayuan IP has established electronic information and equipment manufacturing as its pillar industries. Related industrial chains have also been established. Currently, there are approximately 100 enterprises in total located in the park. Representatives include Chongqing Chongyou Information Technology (Group) and Chongqing Dima Industry.
According to development plans for the two pillar industries, in five years from 2008, industrial clusters for electronic information are expected to realize an annual industrial output of RMB 50 billion while the equipment manufacturing industry is expected to generate an industrial output of RMB 30 billion every year.
Chongqing Dima Industry Co. Ltd<600565> engaged primarily in the manufacture of high-tech specialized vehicles such as police cars, cash trucks and fire engines. It realized sales revenues and net profits of RMB 692 million and 105 million respectively in 2007. The company has been one of the top 50 industrial enterprises in Chongqing.
