Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region raked in nearly RMB 1.3 billion in the past two golden weeks, representing a 35% increase compared with the corresponding period last year, thanks to the booming tourism during the traditional Chinese Spring Festival, sources reported.

According to statistics from tourism-related authorities in Guangxi, over 3.4 million people traveled to the Autonomous Region, up 20% year on year.

During the Spring Festival, folk art performances and the related entertainment activities were very popular with tourists, commented Yu Xiaojun, deputy director of the local Tourism Bureau.
