The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will send a buying delegation to Taiwan in May, which will spend US$160 million on purchasing products made in the island, sources reported.

The Guangxi delegation, consisting of 1,000 people, will go to the 5th Conference on Guangxi-Taiwan Economic and Trade Cooperation, which will be held in Taipei on May 22.

The business delegation will visit Kaohsiung and Taipei, said Sun Jianqiu, deputy director of the regional Commerce Department. In April, more than 150 enterprises from two sides have shown their intention to cooperate.

In the past four conferences on Guangxi-Taiwan Economic and Trade Cooperation, enterprises from both sides have reached agreement on 180 projects, involving US$8 billion worth of investment in total.
