Experts predict great gold mining potential in SW Guizhou

Senior researcher Feng Jizhou with the Guizhou Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources believes that the gold reserves already found in the province only accounts for a small part of its total gold reserve, and there is still great potential in gold mining.

In the past 30 years, a larger number of gold reserves have been found in the southwestern region of Guizhou province. These gold reserves have been generating considerable benefit for the local goverment.

According to Feng, the geochemical mapping of Guizhou province has covered the entire region and the gold reserves located in the surface have all been clearly delineated out, which provides a detailed and in-depth guidance for future exploration.

Feng also urged the mining companies to expand and to deepen their exploration scope so as to find those more gold reserves hidden under the earth.

Under the new prospecting theory, the gold reserves currently found are all near the surface. A large amount of gold deposit sill lies in deep, even 1,000 meters below the ground.
