Ningbo's sea-rail intermodal container volume doubles

Ningbo posted a sea-rail intermodal container volume of over 40,000 TEU as of late November this year, a surge of 99 per cent over the same period a year ago, Xinhua reports.
The sharp increase was a result of the city's efforts in sea-rail intermodal services to Zhejiang province's hinterland cities and to central China's Jiangxi province. Ningbo's sea-rail intermodal network has expended to cover Jiangxi's Nanchang, Shangrao, Yingtan and Jingdezhen city.
Ningbo launched sea-rail intermodal service in 2009. In early 2010, the city started the fastest sea-rail intermodal service in China, which is to eastern manufacturing city Wenzhou.
