Riding on the crest of the car show business, the East China (Suzhou) International Car Show will take place at Suzhou Fun Park Exhibition Centre between 22 and 31 October 2004 as the first international car show "for the people".
The show will be jointly hosted by the China Automotive Industry Association, Suzhou city government, Suzhou branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Suzhou Broadcasting and Television General Station. The traditional mode of staging exhibition indoors will be abandoned in favour of an international event combining nature and humanities with business opportunities. The duration will be longer than normal car shows, and greater efforts will be made to organise thematic activities to boost the brand image of cars on show and create an atmosphere for China's first car carnival.
According to the organising committee, full use will be made of the attraction of the Suzhou Fun Park to stage an interactive show for 15 cities in the YRD. The show, opening round the clock, will have an exhibition area of 50,000 sqm, where cultural activities relating to cars will take place simultaneously with 15 cities. These promotional activities include song and dance performance, car parades, car and housing shows, food and beer festivals, fashion shows, photographic exhibitions and essay competitions.
