China MidClass Consumers
Middle-class consumers on the Chinese mainland are spending more cautiously, but are confident and have not changed their basic consumption habits and attitudes in the wake of the global financial crisis. Those findings were part of a Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) survey of 1050 mainland middle-class consumers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Dalian and Wuhan in June this year – the third study of its kind since 2003.
