Essential Networking Makes A Difference

Mr. Graham Cranswick-Smith
Mr Jerry Rapes, VP for APAC Sales, G2iX shared his views on how Business Matching service enhanced its exhibit at the HKTDC International ICT Expo 2010.

Global Gateway Innovation Exchange (G2iX) www.g2ix.com, with roots in the delivery of enterprise software and technology solutions to Fortune 500s and start-ups around the world, has grown rapidly to become one of the recognized technology innovation leaders in the world. In April 2010, its latest mCloud Series received the Best of Interop Finalist award under the Cloud Computing category.

"Prior to 2009, the US market chalked up 95% of our business. However, the financial tsunami had prompted us to expand our market in Asia," said Mr Jerry Rapes, VP for APAC Sales at G2iX. "Today, we serve a number of market leaders in the healthcare, telecommunications, and software & technology industries in the region, and even as far as Australia."

The remarkable result can be attributed to G2iX's aggressive marketing and networking efforts, including taking part at the HKTDC International ICT Expo 2010 as well as utilizing the HKTDC Business Matching Service in the last two years.

"It is not enough to be just participating (as an exhibitor) at the show," cites Mr. Rapes. "It's also essential to set pre-arranged meetings with potential buyers. This year, the customized business matching meetings were even more pertinent than last year's and we were really happy with it."

He adds that preliminary business matching information is important prior to the actual meetings. "Without the help of the HKTDC Business Matching service, we would have missed out on these opportunities."

Among the new technologies showcased at ICT Expo 2010 by G2iX is the mCloud Series, which provides complete cloud management and provisioning platform that enables enterprises of all sizes to leverage the benefits of both private and public cloud computing. Mr. Rapes notes that it had drawn the most attention from visitors and companies met during the business matching meetings. As pointed out by Mr. Rapes, "cloud computing" has undoubtedly become the ‘buzz' word in the IT field.

"There is a big clamour for cloud solutions in Asia which makes it very exciting to introduce mCloud (to these enterprises)," said Mr. Rapes. "And with our end-to-end software development to engineering automation capabilities, we've got just the advantage over our counterparts."
