Specialising in fabric design, Tessari-Art made its first debut at an HKTDC trade show in 2008 exhibiting at the Inno Design Tech (IDT) Expo as well using the Council's Business Matching Service for the first time.

"We flew from Holland again to exhibit at the World Boutique 2010 as we were thrilled by the fruitful results we achieved last time at the IDT Expo," said Textile Designer Marcella Tessari.

Among the few companies recommended to Tessari-Art during the IDT Expo, the company had successfully collaborated with two firms, one international company with branches in Asia, and another Japanese company with sourcing office and retail outlet in Hong Kong.

"The international company used our design service for creating a selection of upholstery fabric, while the Japanese company ordered some specially-designed scarves for their specialty store at the IFC Mall. In fact, the buyers from this Japanese company will be back at the World Boutique to check out our latest winter collection," continued Ms. Tessari.

At present, the majority of Tessari-Art's customers are from Europe, and the designer is looking out for establishing market footholds in Asia.

"We trust our unique designs for upholstery fabric and scarf will appeal to consumers here. This region is a budding and lucrative market for many companies; with no exceptions to us," noted the designer.

"It won't be easy to get in touch with these companies without using HKTDC Business Matching Service, and it is so efficient for us to get all relevant information in advance and further our discussion with them while we are exhibiting here. I believe we can keep riding on this effective platform to make inroads into the regional market," concluded Ms. Tessari.
