Since its incorporation in 1993, Prairie Dog Co Ltd has been specializing in textile goods and home furnishing items wholesaling to high-end gift shops and department stores in Japan , the US and Europe. With the profound foundation built, it has started to leverage its business in China by distributing its products in a few stores in Hong Kong such as Lane Crawford.
"To further tap into the Hong Kong and China market, we need to work with more appropriate distributors and buyers," said Mr. Tadayoshi Iwaki, Chief Director of Prairie Dog.
Prairie Dog has successfully tied up with the right counterparts through the HKTDC Business Matching Service during its recent participation in the Tokyo Fashion Mission to Hong Kong, which was led by the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, Japan.
"Through the arrangement of the HKTDC, we had fruitful discussions with four potential buyers from Hong Kong. We see a huge chance to strike a deal with one of them which is actually the Hong Kong branch of a multinational distributor," affirmed Mr. Tadayoshi.
It was a surprise for Mr. Tadayoshi and he appreciated the HKTDC's efforts in arranging the business matching service. "It is no easy to find the right potential counterparts. Much time and efforts have been wasted when we conduct blind search on our own. Much could be achieved in just a few hours' time as the background information of each other have been introduced by the business matching specialists prior to the meetings," elaborated Mr. Tadayoshi.
"This meeting format is very direct, efficient and smooth that we could be matched with the targeted partners hassle-free," enthused Mr. Tadayoshi.
Mr. Tadayoshi added that the company is eager to use the business matching service again in the future hoping to connect with more potential partners to further its business development.
