HKTDC's Global Partnership

Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide

Formed in 2000 with the strong support of the HKTDC, the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide (the “Federation”) is a global network of business associations established outside Hong Kong. These associations were started by overseas traders, buyers and professionals who wish to maintain close business links with Hong Kong. Currently, there are 11,000 individual members representing 40 business associations in 29 countries and regions. HKTDC serves as the Secretariat of the Federation and organises the annual Hong Kong Forum which provides a platform for association members to gather in Hong Kong every year to discuss issues of common interest.

Bilateral Committees

To promote trade and economic ties between Hong Kong and its major trading counterparts at the most senior level, the HKTDC serves as the Secretariat of six bilateral committees, including Japan, the United States, Europe, Korea, France and Taiwan. Annual or biennial plenary meetings are held to facilitate information exchange, to promote trade and economic co-operation, and, as and when required, to make representations to the appropriate governments.
