Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg is ranked second in the Middle East’s Most Influential Women listing for 2018 by Forbes Middle East. She has been ranked 28th in the Arab Power 2018 listing of the 100 Most Powerful Arabs, compiled by Gulf Business magazine rising from the previous ranking in 2017. She was the most powerful Emirati Businesswoman in Forbes Middle East’s 2017 ranking. She was listed 90th among ‘The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women’ by Forbes for 2017.

Dr. Al Gurg represents the U.A.E. at many international conferences and round-tables as a key-note speaker and is also part of the Government of Dubai’s official delegation for various trade and commerce meetings. She also hosted the first MENA Businesswomen’s Network Forum, in her capacity as the President of the Dubai Business Women Council.

Diana Cesar, Group General Manager of HSBC Group, is Chief Executive for Hong Kong and a member of the Executive Committee for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. Ms Cesar is currently the Chairperson of the Hong Kong Association of Banks.

During her career with HSBC, Ms Cesar has held leadership roles in Marketing, Cards and Loans, Mortgages, Distribution Strategy and Consumer Propositions in Hong Kong and across Asia-Pacific. Before being appointed Chief Executive for Hong Kong in September 2015, Ms Cesar had been Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management for Hong Kong since 2011.

Ms Cesar first joined HSBC in 1999 and was appointed Head of Distribution and Product Development in 2003 with responsibility for establishing retail distribution infrastructure throughout Asia-Pacific. She was named Head of General Banking in 2007, managing all general retail banking portfolios including deposits, mortgages, credit cards and consumer assets in Hong Kong.

Professor Chan is Adjunct Professor and Senior Advisor to the Dean at HKUST Business School. He was appointed as Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from July 2007 to June 2017. Prior to that, he was Dean of Business and Management in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Before joining the HKUST Business School in 1993, Professor Chan had spent nine years teaching at Ohio State University in the United States.

Professor Chan received his bachelor's degree in economics from Wesleyan University and his M.B.A. and Ph.D. in finance from the University of Chicago. He specialised in assets pricing, evaluation of trading strategies and market efficiency and has published numerous articles on these topics.

Professor Chan held a number of public service positions including Chairman of the Consumer Council, Director of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, and Member of the Commission on Strategic Development, Commission on Poverty, the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, the Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee, and the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation. Mr Ronnie C. Chan, GBM

Mr. Ronnie C. Chan is Chairman of Hang Lung Group Limited and its subsidiary Hang Lung Properties Limited, both publicly listed in Hong Kong. Founded in Hong Kong in 1960, the Group expanded into mainland China in 1992, developing, owning and managing world-class commercial complexes in key tier one and tier two cities. Mr. Chan co-founded Morningside, an international investment group established in 1986 with venture capital and private equity investments in manufacturing, TMT, and biotechnology. Mr Victor L L Chu

Victor Chu was born in Canton, China and came to Hong Kong at the age of four. He received his early education in Hong Kong and England, and took his law degree at University College London where he is now a honorary fellow.

Mr Chu is Chairman of First Eastern Investment Group, a leading Hong Kong-based international investment firm and a pioneer of private equity investments in China. He is a Co-Founder and Director of Peach Aviation in Japan, as well as a Board Member of Airbus SE.

Over the last 30 years, Victor Chu has at various times served as Director and Council Member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Member of the Hong Kong Takeovers and Mergers Panel, Advisory Committee Member of the Securities and Futures Commission, and part-time member of Hong Kong Government’s Central Policy Unit. Mr Chu has also served as a Foundation Board Member of the World Economic Forum from 2003 to 2015 and currently co-chairs the Forum’s International Business Council. He is Chairman of the Hong Kong-Europe Business Council.

Denis Duverne is a graduate of the École des hautes études commerciales. After graduating from the École nationale d’administration (ENA), he started his career in 1979 at the Tax Department of the French Ministry of Finance, and after 2 years as commercial counsellor for the French Consulate General in New York, he became director of the Corporate Taxes Department and then responsible for tax policy within the French Ministry of Finance from 1986 to 1991. In 1991, he was appointed Corporate Secretary of Compagnie Financière IBI. In 1992, he became a member of the Executive Committee of Banque Colbert, in charge of operations. In 1995, Denis Duverne joined the AXA Group and assumed responsibility for supervision of AXA’s operations in the US, the UK and managed the reorganization of AXA companies in Belgium and the UK. From February 2003 until December 2009, Mr. Duverne was the Management Board member in charge of Finance, Control and Strategy. From April 2010 to August 2016, Denis Duverne was director and Deputy CEO of AXA, in charge of Finance, Strategy and Operations. Since September 2016, Denis Duverne has been non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of AXA. Since September 2018, he has been Chairman of the Insurance Development Forum. The IDF is a public-private partnership led by the insurance industry and supported by the World Bank and the United Nations, aiming to enhance the use of insurance to build greater resilience against disasters and to help achieve the United Nations Global 2030 Agenda.

Nick is now a Venture Partner at Portag3 Ventures, the largest global VC dedicated to FinTech. Mrs Carrie Lam joined the Administrative Service of the Hong Kong Government in August 1980 and rose to the rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade A1 in September 2006. She became a Principal Official on July 1, 2007 when she was appointed Secretary for Development. She was appointed Chief Secretary for Administration on July 1, 2012.

Mrs Lam has served the public for more than 36 years in 20 public service positions including Director of Social Welfare, Permanent Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands (Planning and Lands), Director-General of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Secretary for Development and Chief Secretary for Administration.

Mrs Lam was elected as the Fifth-Term Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on March 26, 2017, and was officially appointed to this position by the Central People’s Government on March 31, 2017 to assume office on July 1, 2017.

Mr Lau was appointed the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury on 1 July 2017.

Mr Lau joined the Hong Kong Government as an Administrative Officer (AO) in 1979 and was promoted through the ranks to AO Staff Grade C in April 1988. He joined the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in April 1993 and was the Head and Executive Director of various divisions of the HKMA until 2004.

In July 2004, Mr Lau was seconded to the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation as Chief Executive Officer until he retired in December 2012. Mr Lau was appointed Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury in January 2014.

Michel Liès has 40 years’ experience in global insurance and reinsurance, life insurance, and property and casualty insurance. He has held a number of positions in the industry, including Group CEO of Swiss Re. He began his career at the reinsurer in 1978, working first in the life market in Latin America before moving to Europe in 1983, where he held a number of senior positions within Swiss Re’s life businesses. In 1994 he moved into Swiss Re’s non-life sector, with responsibility for southern Europe and Latin America. From 1998 he served as Swiss Re’s Head of Latin America Division until 2000, when he was appointed Head of the Europe Division of its Property & Casualty Business Group. In 2005 he became Swiss Re’s Head Client Markets with responsibility for client relationships worldwide, and was also appointed as a member of the reinsurer’s Group Executive Committee. From 2011 to 2012 Mr. Liès served as Swiss Re’s Chairman of Global Partnerships, which works with governments, international development bodies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to mitigate and address global risks and increase resilience. He was appointed Swiss Re’s Group CEO in February 2012 and served in that role until his retirement from Swiss Re in 2016. He became Chairman of the Board of Zurich Insurance Group Ltd and Zurich Insurance Company Ltd in April 2018.

Mr Vincent HS Lo assumed Chairmanship of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in June 2015. Mr Lo was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) in 1998 and appointed Justice of the Peace in 1999 by the Government of the HKSAR. Other accolades include “Businessman of the Year” at the Hong Kong Business Awards in 2001, “Director of the Year Award” from The Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2002, as well as Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French government in 2005. In 2009, Mr Lo was named “China Entrepreneur of the Year” and “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the China Real Estate Sector by global consultancy Ernst & Young. He was also given an “Honorary Citizen” of Shanghai in 1999 and Foshan in 2011. In 2012, the 4th World Chinese Economic Forum honoured Mr Lo with the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership” in the Property Sector. Blythe Masters is CEO of Digital Asset, the NY-based distributed ledger solutions provider for financial services and other institutions. The company’s distributed ledger platform and smart contract modeling language, called DAML, help global organizations build applications that facilitate the simple, efficient and secure transfer of value within and between organizations.

Blythe is Chair of the Governing Board of the Linux Foundation’s open source Hyperledger Project, serves on the boards of Santander Group, the U.S. Chamber of Digital Commerce, ID2020 and the Global Fund for Women.

Blythe was previously a senior executive at J.P. Morgan, which she left in 2014 after 27 years and following the sale of the bank’s physical commodities business, which she built. Nic Nicandrou is Chief Executive of Prudential Corporation Asia (PCA), a position he has held since July 2017. Nic is responsible for PCA’s life insurance and asset management businesses across 14 markets in the region.

Prudential is a market-leading life insurer in Asia with a robust diversified multichannel distribution platform providing a diverse range of solutions to meet the longterm protection needs of customers. It currently serves 15 million customers across the region. Its asset management business, Eastspring Investments, one of the largest asset managers in Asia, provides investment solutions across a broad range of classes and currently manages US$182 billion (£138 billion) in assets (Figures as at 30 June 2018).

Prior to his current role, Nic was Chief Financial Officer at Prudential plc from 2009 when he joined the company. Nic was also responsible for Group’s strategy and has served as executive director responsible for Prudential’s African insurance operations since 2015. Before joining Prudential, he worked at Aviva, where he held a number of senior roles including Norwich Union Life Finance Director and Board Member, Aviva Group Financial Control Director, Aviva Group Financial Management and Reporting Director and CGNU Group Financial Reporting Director. Ms Jayne Plunkett

Ms Jayne Plunkett assumed the role of Regional President for Swiss Re's business in Asia on 1 July 2016. She also holds the role of Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Re Asia Pte. Ltd. and was elected to its Board of Directors with effect from 31 December 2017.

She is responsible for running all facets of the business and leads over 1,900 employees in eight markets across Asia. She brings with her 25 years of experience which has spanned over three continents; Asia, North America, and Europe.

Ms Plunkett joined Swiss Re in 2006 as Managing Director and Head of Property & Casualty Underwriting, Regional Accounts in the US, following Swiss Re's acquisition of GE Insurance Solutions. From 2008 to 2012, she was based in Hong Kong as Managing Director and Head of Casualty Underwriting for the Asia region.

Before assuming her current role, Ms Plunkett became a Member of the Group Management Board and held the global role, Division Head Casualty Reinsurance, where she focused on growing and developing business in response to technological changes, as well as managing the unit handling all large and complex transactions for P&C Reinsurance.

In 1999, Ms Plunkett joined GE Insurance Solutions where she served as Insurance Pricing Team Leader, Deputy Chief Reserving Actuary, Head of Casualty Risk Management, and Head of Planning and Analysis. She started her career at John Deere Insurance Company in 1992, where she held various positions in the Commercial Lines segment in Property and Casualty.

Ms Plunkett is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She was also named a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2010.

Mr Mark Tucker

Mark Tucker is non-executive Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc.

He has over 30 years' experience in the financial services industry in Asia and in the UK. Most recently he was Group Chief Executive and President of AIA Group Limited (AIA), which under his leadership became the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group.

Prior to this he held various senior management roles with Prudential plc, including as founding Chief Executive of Prudential Corporation Asia Limited from 1994 to 2003, expanding its geographic portfolio from 3 to 12 markets. Mr Tucker was also on the Board of Prudential plc for 10 years, serving as its Group Chief Executive from 2005 to 2009.

Mr Tucker served on the Court of The Bank of England from 2009 to 2012. From 2012 to 2017 he was an independent non-executive director of the Goldman Sachs Group.

Mr Tucker is an Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He serves on the Asia Business Council and the Advisory Board of the Asia Global Institute. He is also a member of the International Advisory Boards of the Lingnan College, Sun Yat-Sen University in China, the Discovery Group of South Africa and the Edinburgh Festival International. Mr Tucker was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Peterson Institute for International Economics in May 2018.

Mr Tucker qualified as an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ACA) in 1985.

Robert B. Zoellick is the non-executive chairman of AllianceBernstein, a leading global investment management firm that offers high-quality research and diversified investment services to institutional investors, individuals, and private wealth clients in major world markets. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. In addition, Zoellick serves on the boards of Temasek, Singapore’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, and Laureate International Universities, as well as on the international advisory board of Rolls Royce. He also is a member of the board of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, chairs the Global Tiger Initiative, and is a member of the Global Leadership Council of Mercy Corps, a global humanitarian agency.

Zoellick was the President of the World Bank Group from 2007-12, U.S. Trade Representative from 2001 to 2005, and Deputy Secretary of State from 2005 to 2006. From 1985 to 1993, Zoellick served as Counselor to the Secretary of the Treasury and Under Secretary of State, as well as the White House Deputy Chief of Staff.

Zoellick is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, the Department of State’s highest honor, the Alexander Hamilton Award of the Department of the Treasury, and the Medal for Distinguished Public Service of the Department of Defense. The German government awarded him the Knight Commanders Cross for his achievements in the course of German unification. The Mexican and Chilean governments awarded him their highest honors for non-citizens, the Aztec Eagle and the Order of Merit, for recognition of his work on free trade, development, and the environment.
