| 7.4.2008 China Issues Catalogue of Prohibited Products in Processing Trade 2008 On 5 April, China's Ministry of Commerce and General Administration of Customs issued the newly revised Catalogue of Products under the Prohibited Category in Processing Trade. The 2008 catalogue covers a total of 1,816 customs tariff codes, including 39 products newly added to the prohibited category as well as the Second Catalogue of Products under the Prohibited Category in Processing Trade 2007.
Processing trade contracts involving the newly added products and approved by the commerce departments before 5 May 2008 may be filed with Customs according to relevant regulations and completed within the contract validity period. Enterprises under online monitoring are allowed to complete their contracts by 5 April 2009.
