Wai Ming is a Hong Kong group of companies specializing in electrical contracting and supply of electrical products. Wai Ming Engineering Company was established in 1972. In 1984, Wai Ming Contracting Co. Ltd. was incorporated to continue and expand the business of the proprietorship. In 1988, strong growth necessitated divisionalization. Wai Ming Trading Company (wholly owned by Wai Ming Services Ltd.) was formed to handle all trading business to cater the local electrical installation industry. Apart from representing quality products primarily from the United Kingdom, Wai Ming Trading Company gradually entered into manufacturing joint ventures in China to achieve import substitution. Recently it began to export such goods to Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. Wai Ming Contracting Co. Ltd. began to introduce quality assurance management system in 1992 and was formally certified to ISO 9002 requirements by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency in 1994. It continually upgrades its capability and provides strong technical support in product development and quality assurance of the trading arm. The company currently employs over 80 staff. The annual turnover amounts to US$40 million. At present the total banking facilities granted by the bank is over US$10 million.
