The Group’s history can be traced back to 90s. The founder, Mr. Yau Wah Yau set up a numeric pager design-consulting firm in 1991. A year later, a small factory was set up in Hong Kong to manufacture and distribute a variety of Chinese characters pagers under its own brand “Realink”. In 1993, Realink acquired first paging frequency license to carry out Chinese secretarial paging service, set up retail chain stores and provided comprehensive information including real time stock, forex, horse racing, news and weather report to users.
From 1994 to 1998, the Group acquired 160,000 sq. ft in Hangzhou and built own pager manufacturing factory. Its paging wholesale business successfully penetrated into Mainland China. Over 100 paging service operators in Mainland were the Group’s loyal customers. In Hong Kong, the Group further acquired second frequency to cater business growth. During the year of 1995-96, Realink was ranked twice as the best secretarial paging service company according to an authoritative institution survey. In 1998, Mr. Yau Wah Yau was nominated and awarded one of the Young Industrialists of Hong Kong by Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI). The Group captured further market share by acquiring two paging service competitors i.e. BB Telecom and Sky Telecom in 1999. Nine years after its establishment, Realink had already become the NUMBER 1 financial pager service provider and one of the most profitable paging service firms in Hong Kong.
In the beginning of 2000s, the Group obtained SFC Regulated Type 1 Securities Dealing License and launched manual trade service. Two years later, Realink introduced its self-developed Internet securities brokerage service to the mass retail customers and became the service pioneer. The speedy self-developed system, reliable and reasonable charged service was popular especially among professional day traders. In 2003, the Group further acquired SFC Regulated Type 2 Futures Dealing License and launched manual Futures trading service. Innovation of the Group’s products never stop, once again, it became a pioneer by launching mobile trade service in 2005 and became one of a few mobile trading service providers in Hong Kong. Realink self-developed Internet future trading (e-future) system was introduced to the retail market in 2010.
Through continuous innovation and development, Realink will enhance its product and trading system from time to time. A full range of trading platform is now provided to cater for the needs of different customers.
